Chamber strongly opposes flawed measure - Again!
Just before Christmas 2007, the Chamber received the news that the Oxnard Traffic Initiative (OTI) did not garner enough valid signatures to qualify for the ballot, as was reported in last month's Business Voice. Within weeks, the OTI proponents were back with a slightly revised version of the same measure.

Oxnard recognized as a Top Chamber for website
The Oxnard Chamber of Commerce received terrific recognition at the Western Association of Chamber Executives (W.A.C.E.) Conference. W.A.C.E. represents over 800 chamber professionals across 17 states. Oxnard was recognized for its website along side Sonoma, Riverside and Las Vegas.

It was judged on overall design, functionality, usability and content that is up-to-date and well written.

Kara Kelley, President and CEO Las Vegas Chamber and Chairman of the Board of W.A.C.E., presented the award to Robin Blevins, Director of Marketing and Communications.

VCTC Executive Director to speak at March breakfast
The Ventura County Transportation Commission's (VCTC) new Executive Director will be the keynote speaker for the Chamber's Good Morning Oxnard breakfast, March 13.

Darren Kettle started his position in October 2007, replacing the long-time Director Ginger Gherardi. Prior to joining VCTC, Kettle was employed by the San Bernardino Associated Governments serving as the Director of Freeway Construction. VCTC was created in 1988 and is responsible for establishing transportation policies, setting priorities and coordinating activities between various transportation operators, agencies, cities and the county.

The Good Morning Oxnard breakfast will be held on Thursday, March 13 at the Residence Inn, 2101 W. Vineyard Ave. Registration begins at 7:15 a.m. with breakfast and program following.
