The Pleasant Valley
Recreation and Park District operates five community parks within the
Camarillo community. These parks are generally over 10 acres in size and
are located throughout the district so that every household has one within
a one and one-half mile radius of their home. Typically, community parks
have restrooms, larger playground equipment areas, tennis courts and
lighted playing fields.
Pleasant Valley Park
1030 Temple Avenue/Ponderosa Drive & Temple Avenue
This 12.95 acre park is
one of the oldest most frequently visited parks in the district. The park
is centrally located in the district. When construction was completed in
November 1998 on the
Pleasant Valley Skate Park, the Pleasant Valley Recreation & Park District
became the first special district in the state of California to open a
public skate park. Since then the skate park has become the single most
heavily used recreational facility in the district, averaging several
hundred skaters per day. The park also features:

Valle Lindo Park
889 Aileen Street/Valle Lindo & Aileen Street
This 10 acre features a
sidewalk trail system throughout the park. Valle Lindo Park is best known
for the annual Easter Eggstravaganza. The park also features:

- Two family-sized
picnic shelters with BBQ grills
- Grass volleyball
courts
- Soccer fields (home of
Camarillo Eagles Youth Soccer)
- Restrooms

Mission Oaks Park
5501 Mission Oaks
Boulevard/Mission Oaks Boulevard & Oak Canyon
Mission Oaks Park was
first opened to the public in the early 1980's. Originally the district
was able to develop 10 acres with another 10 acres undeveloped. In 1995
the district embarked on an ambitious 2 million dollar park redevelopment.
The scope of the project included the long awaited development of the
originally undeveloped 10 acres. With the completion of the redevelopment
in 1996, Mission Oaks Park immediately became the jewel in the district's
park system, and garnered several state-wide awards for design along the
way. This park features:

playground equipment
- Lighted meandering
walkways
- Three lighted softball
fields (home for the
Camarillo Girls Softball Association)
- Several picnic
shelters capable of accommodating 210 people

Freedom Park
275 E. Pleasant Valley Road/Skyway Drive & Eubanks Street
This 33.86 acre park is
located at the Camarillo Airport, has a community center. Adult softball
and youth soccer are played here on a year-round basis. Freedom Park is
home to the new Inline Hockey Arena. Other features are:

Community Center Park
1605 E. Burnley Street/Carmen Drive & Burnley Street
This 12.85 acre park came
into the district in April 1966 and is home to the Community Center,
Senior Center and district administrative offices. The park features:

- Large open area used
for sports and special events

Camarillo Grove Park
6968 E. Camarillo Springs Road
Nestled in a rustic
setting near the base
of the Conejo Grade at the end of Camarillo
Springs Road. This park has five areas that can be rented for groups and
events ranging from 50 to 350 people. Dogs are only allowed in the Dog
Park Area. This beautiful park features:
